Support The Homies: Hold Your Fork Tote in Collaboration with Gino Belassen
I don’t need to tell you guys how weird these times are.
Most of you reading this probably work in the restaurant industry or have people very close to you that do.
As of right now, some restaurants are doing everything they can to stay open and turn a profit not only to pay their bills but to put food on the table for their employees.
I feel terrible for the restaurants and employees that don’t have this option.
I have partnered with a kickass artist and my good friend Gino Belassen, to create 12 hand-drawn totes that list seven of my favorite restaurants, all of which are doing everything they can to support their staff and feed the community that loves them.
Here is a shortlist of restaurants that are fighting and adapting in challenging times, this isn’t everyone, I love each one of these places, the food, and the drinks, but I love the people the most! So please go support them! I included seven restaurants for each day of the week! You can go whenever you want, but this is a little recommendation!
Restaurant Progress: Sunday
Restaurant Progress has transformed itself from a 5-course fine dining restaurant to a family-style to-go spot. The menu rotates every night; entrees include fried chicken, meatloaf, and pot roast. They are offering their full wine list at a discounted price, along with some kickass to go cocktails. To top things off, Dino’s pizza is also serving bomb ass pasta and, of course, their entire pizza menu.
Lux: Monday
When I walk in here, and the place isn’t packed with people … it throws me off every time. They are still cranking out their pastries and coffee. Breakfast until dinner. Go get a pastry and a coffee.
Loco Style Grindz: Tuesday
The casual Hawaiian BBQ joint that has a place in my heart is still cooking! Now you just have to take your food home. Get five tacos and eat them at home or in your car! This family is incredible, and everything they do is with love.
Glai Baan: Wednesday
The people’s champ. They are offering their menu for takeout along with a smaller selection of bottled cocktails!
Worth Takeaway: Thursday
Ahhhh! The sandwich spot that could do no wrong! Worth loves the community, and the community loves them! They are doing grocery bundles with local purveyors, doing chef specials with local chefs who are out of work, and giving all of the proceeds to that chef’s family! My man Donny sold out of all of his Pot pies when they started this! Follow them and support what they are doing!
Chula Seafood: Friday
You can get anything from their menu delivered, or you can pick it up curbside! If you are going to stock up on fish to freeze and save for later, make it local.
Tratto/Bianco: Saturday
If you told me that it would take a global pandemic to get Chris Bianco on YouTube … I would have believed you. Now here we are, Bianco YouTube channel, along with the best 18” pizza in the state! Yeah, I said it! Bianco is making big ole Brooklyn style pies at both Pane locations.
Meanwhile, at Tratto they are selling bottles of wine, cocktails by the man Blaise and a family-oriented menu along with a whole “pantry section” so you can stock up on home goods too ❤️
