BURGER HUNT Pt.7: Chicago Hamburger Co.
Chicago Hamburger Co.
Over the past couple of years, I have noticed the recent uptick in Chicago based businesses, opening here in Phoenix. Some of them have already closed down (Gino’s East, Giodano’s).
The OG, the one who hopefully will never leave us, the Chicago Hamburger Co.
It’s not a secret, people from the midwest love our little big city in the middle of the desert. Some of them come for vacation, and stay forever. Some just come here, get sunburnt then leave.
The Chicago Hamburger Co. is as “Phoenix” as a goddamned saguaro by this point. A staple to the Arcadia community. Serving tasty sliders and dank hot dogs, what more does a person need?
When you walk in, the place is riddled with old Chicago sports memorabilia (part of the charm). There is a good chance, Bob, the owner, is standing at the register to take your order. You can recognize him by his forearm tattoo, one of his sliders … baller move.
Bob, is a real nice guy and so is the rest of the staff. Every time I have been in, the place is pretty popping, people from all walks of life are eating burgers, dogs, fries and shakes, and if that isn’t the most American thing, I don’t know what is.
